HP Leaving Laptops – Great Laptop Deals Coming

The HP tablet blowout has really shaken up the tablet world. It’s no secret now that HP is getting out of the hardware business. Sure they blew out the tablets but what about the laptop deals?
Those must be coming also.
When one of the biggest laptop manufacturers is getting out of the business that will have an impact. People selling laptops want to make money and it’s not hard  to see that blowout prices are bad for everyone. Acer in Europe has been clearing out their inventories with great deals. HP laptop deals are coming up.
You can read something into why HP, one of the world leaders in laptops is getting out of the hardware business. There isn’t the money in it that there used to be. I’m sure that’s a big part of why this happened. It’s all about profit or lack thereof. So when HP starts clearing their laptops, suddenly people stop buying the more expensive offerings from the competition. This has a ripple effect. Everyone else must sacrific their profits or they simply won’t move any stock. It’s like houses. When you a neighbor sells for a really cheap price, it suddenly forces everyone else in the neighborhood to do the same. It’s bad for everyone
So if you’re shopping for a laptop in late 2011 and early 2012, expect to see lower than normal prices. We will be watching the HP laptop deals and follow their timeline. There is no official word when they want to close our their hardware division so this may be a very gradual stock reduction. We aren’t expecting a HP TouchPad type situation to happen with their laptops. We can always hope though!
